100% of our work force is composed of volunteers. We rely on altruistic professionals like you to carry out our humanitarian work. It's through the time and care of volunteers that we can do extraordinary things for these people.
Upcoming Medical Missions in 2025
Our main campaign, in October, is scheduled for October 5-12 2025.
All volunteers pay their own two-way airfare to Peru. Once in Lima, SoPA picks volunteers up at the airport. Lodging, transportation, and food expenses are paid for by SoPA for the duration of the medical campaign.
However, we need volunteers to travel on our two smaller missions in the late spring/summer each year, and also with all the work we do stateside to get ready.

PEDIATRICIAN, VOLUNTEER, SOPA FOUNDER
Dr. Garcia has been a pediatrician since 1990 and being a Native of Peru, he recognized the need for basic medical care for the kids in the Andes. One of SOPA’s founders, he has travelled every year to Castrovirreyna for the last 10 years, seeing hundreds of kids during his time volunteering
PODIATRIST – LANGUAGE ISN’T A BARRIER
Dr. Belli, born and raised in New York City, has been a podiatrist for over 40 years. Though unable to speak Spanish, that hasn’t stopped him from volunteering with SOPA during our annual missions. Walking is the primary mode of transportation for the people we see during our mission, some even travelling over 3-4 hours to see our specialists. Dr. Belli works with one of our translators, to educate the people about proper foot care. Because we only get two to last us our whole lives so why not take care of them?
